Victoria Rathgeb TV and Movie Roles

Victoria Rathgeb was charged with attempted murder this week in Los Angeles, but before she hit the headlines as a Playboy Playmate gone wrong, she had a long career in the 1960’s and 70’s playing the roles of beautiful women in a variety of television shows and movies.

Victoria Rathgeb began her career known as Angela Dorian, although she was born Victoria Cecelia Vetry. She also often used the name Victoria Vetri.

The stage name Angela Dorian was taken from the fateful Italian cruise liner, Andrea Doria, which had sunk a few years before her first and uncredited Hollywood appearance in the 1962 movie The Pigeon That Took Rome.

Her dark Italian looks (both her parents were Italian) often led her to being cast as spicy anti-heroines. You probably fell in love with her exotic looks watching a variety of TV shows in the 60’s.

According to LA police, Victoria Rathgeb was involved in a domestic dispute with her husband. “We investigated all possible angles to the story and came to the conclusion that she most certainly did shoot her husband,” said the LA police spokesman of Rathgeb. The shooting was described by the police as the result of a long-standing dispute between the couple, although there had not been any previous involvement from police with the couple.

“Her husband is in extremely critical condition with significant injuries,” said the police spokesman.

Victoria Rathgeb is being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail and has a court date scheduled for November 1. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
